Securitron GL1 Electromechanical Gate Lock

High-Security Electromechanical Lock for Swing and Slide Gates The GL1 Electromechanical Gate Lock is a rugged, high-security solution designed for swing and slide gates in commercial, industrial, and restricted-access environments. Engineered for performance under pressure, it delivers 2,000 lbs of holding force and operates under up to 100 lbs of preload - making it ideal for gates that sag, misalign, or experience pressure from wind or manual force. Built for perimeter applications, the GL1 supports dual voltage (12/24 VDC) and can be installed on manual or automated gate systems. Its weather-resistant cast housing, surface-mount design, and compatibility with mortise cylinders make it adaptable for various high-risk sites. Optional status monitoring contacts allow system-level lock verification when integrated with access control panels. Note: Manual override lockset (mortise cylinder) shown in the pictures is not included and sold separately. Key Features 2,000 lbs of holding force for reliable gate retention Operates under preload conditions up to 100 lbs Auto-sensing dual voltage (12/24 VDC) - no manual adjustment required Tamper-resistant cast aluminum housing for rugged durability Surface-mount design simplifies installation on swing or slide gates Self-aligning receiver (+/– ½") compensates for gate sag or misalignment Optional status monitoring output for lock state feedback Compatible with key cylinder for mechanical override Built to operate in harsh outdoor conditions year-round Technical Specifications Voltage Input: 12 or 24 VDC (auto-sensing) Current Draw (12V): 870 mA peak / 290 mA hold Current Draw (24V): 720 mA peak / 170 mA hold Holding Force: 2,000 lbs Preload Rating: Up to 100 lbs Operating Temperature: –58°F to 167°F (–50°C to 75°C) Dimensions: 7.25" W × 2.75" H × 3.25" D Shipping Weight: 6 lbs Certifications: UL 294, CAN/ULC-S533 Models & Variants GL1-FS (Fail-Safe): Unlocks automatically when power is lost. Recommended for gates requiring emergency egress or compliance with safety codes. Requires continuous power to remain locked. GL1-FL (Fail-Locked/ Fail-Secure): Stays locked during a power failure. Used in solar-powered or off-grid gate systems where maintaining continuous power is not advisable. Requires power only during the unlock cycle, making it energy efficient. Recommended for high security sits where maintaining a locked gate during outages is critical. GL1-FSM (Fail-Safe with Monitoring): Includes all the features of the GL1-FS model. Built-in status contact to confirm if the bolt is engaged. Requires integration with commercial access control or alarm systems. GL1-FLM (Fail-Locked with Monitoring):  Includes all the features of the GL1-FL model. Built-in status contact to confirm if the bolt is engaged. Requires an access control system. The GL1 is available in four factory configurations to meet different power, safety, and integration needs. All models accept a mortise cylinder (sold separately) for manual key override, allowing physical access during power or system failures. Available Accessories: Power supply Manual Override Lockset Mounting Bracket for swing gates Mounting Bracket for slide gates Conclusion The GL1 Electromechanical Gate Lock is built for secure, continuous-duty use in perimeter-critical installations. Whether applied to a high-traffic swing gate or a solar-powered slide gate, it offers fail-safe and fail-secure options, access control integration, and tamper-resistant durability. For property managers, security integrators, and system designers, the GL1 delivers proven reliability where gate security cannot be compromised. Cut Sheet Installation / User Manual
