Second Saturday Coffee Cupping

This is a coffee tasting for anyone new or experienced in the world of coffee. If you'd like to simply taste an array of excellent coffees side-by-side, then this is a relaxed, fun activity for you to do solo or with a group. If you'd like to develop your palate and learn how fermentation, terroir and roasting create those magical flavors in your cup, then this is a place for you to nerd out and get excited about coffee with us. Either way, we'd love to have a cup of coffee (or ten) with you! Please arrive a little early to 110 N Elgin Ave downtown so that we can start on time. Attendees get a sample bag of whole bean coffee, and 20% off retail bags and black coffee (espresso, drip, pour overs, americanos and cold brew) directly before or after the cupping. With a short lecture, brewing, tasting and discussion, these cuppings tend to take nearly an hour. We follow a sanitary cupping protocol where no one ever cross-contaminates germs between cups. Cuppings will change month to month. Cupping is a brewing method that has been used for over 100 years to evaluate the quality of coffee; it's often used by green buyers for purchasing decisions, and it has recently become a popular way to show off coffees like a wine tasting but for coffee.
