seca 787 Digital Column Scale with Digital Measuring Rod and EMR Connectivity

Seca · Column Scale · 787 The networked column scale that sends height and weight straight to the EMR. A tilt-proof full-metal platform, a digital measuring rod with extra-long range, a two-line eye-level display, and EMR-validated transmission — pushed to your record system over the network when paired with the seca 452 module. The 787 sits in the same physical chassis as the 777 — single-piece column, full-metal base, 8-year warranty — but it adds the parts that matter when readings have to land in a chart instead of a notebook. The digital measuring rod replaces the mechanical one. The display shows weight and height on the same screen, with BMI calculated automatically. At the press of a button, the values move from the scale into the EMR with patient and user identification handled by an optional barcode scanner. 550 lbs Capacity (250 kg) 0.2 lb Graduation (100 g) 4–90 in Measuring rod range (10–230 cm) EMR validated 8-yr warranty · 4× industry standard Four pieces of hardware engineered to feed a digital workflow Digital measuring rod Total range 4 – 90 in (10 – 230 cm), with the digital reading active across 48 – 90 in (122 – 230 cm) and 1/8 in (1 mm) graduation. Height appears on the display the moment it's set — no eyeballing a tape, no transcription step. Two-line eye-level display Weight and height shown simultaneously. Auto-BMI computes the index from both values without leaving the screen, so the clinician reads three numbers at one glance instead of switching contexts. EMR-validated transmission Measured values are validated for direct delivery into Electronic Medical Record systems. At the push of a button, weight, height, and BMI move from the scale to the EMR — no manual entry, no transmission errors. Damping + Auto-HOLD Adjustable damping settles the reading even when the patient sways, and Auto-HOLD locks the value automatically at the right moment. Quick reads on calm patients, stable reads on patients who can't hold still. Why clinics specify the 787 over a non-networked scale Eliminates transcription as a failure mode A USB barcode scanner identifies patient and user, the network module sends the reading directly into the EMR, and the measurement is correctly assigned at the source — not reconciled later by someone reading handwriting. One screen, three values Weight, height, and Auto-BMI on a single display means the clinician finishes the measurement in one read instead of three. Built like the 777, but networked Tilt-proof full-metal platform, single-piece column, large rubber-coated castors, and the same 8-year warranty — four times the industry standard. Scales with your network plan Add the seca 452 interface module when you're ready to connect over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The scale is prepared for it from day one; you choose when to switch the link on. Same chassis, same capacity, same warranty. The 787 adds: a digital measuring rod, a two-line display that shows weight and height simultaneously, Auto-BMI, Auto-HOLD with adjustable damping, and EMR-validated transmission over Wi-Fi or Ethernet via the optional seca 452 module. Choose the 787 when readings need to land in an EMR; choose the 777 when a USB-to-PC connection or no connection at all is sufficient. What does "EMR-validated" mean here? The 787 is validated to send measured values directly into Electronic Medical Record systems — at the push of a button, height, weight, and BMI move to the EMR where they're available to every authorised user immediately. Manual transcription drops out of the workflow. How do I connect the scale to my network? By adding the seca 452 interface module, which provides Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity. The 787 is prepared for the 452 from the factory — install the module when you're ready to bring the scale onto the network. How is a patient identified at the scale? Through a USB barcode scanner (available from a third-party vendor, not included). Scanning the patient wristband and user badge binds the measurement to the right record at the source, eliminating misassignment. What is the warranty? Eight years — four times the industry standard. Seca engineers the 787 against an internal endurance benchmark of more than ten years of daily clinical use. Does the measuring rod cover pediatrics? Yes. Total range is 4 – 90 in (10 – 230 cm) with 1/8 in (1 mm) graduation. The digital portion covers 48 – 90 in (122 – 230 cm) — below that, height is read on the rod itself. The optional seca 459 panda bear is a pediatric accessory for measuring children. Can the 787 weigh patients with mobility limits? Yes. The tilt-proof full-metal platform keeps the surface level when a patient steps on at the edge. For patients needing extra support, the optional seca 477 handrail mounts to the scale. Does it have to be plugged in? No. The 787 runs on 6 × AA batteries. A power adapter (seca 401) is available as an optional accessory.
