seca 650 Scale-up Line EMR-Validated Floor Scale

Seca · Scale-up Line · 650 The flat scale that knows your patient's name. An 800-pound-capacity, EMR-validated weighing platform with an ID-Display™ that pulls a patient's name or ID onto the screen before the read — closing the identification loop most weighing workflows leave open. Seca built the Scale-up Line as the first flat scales designed specifically to connect to the digital patient record. The ID-Display™ confirms who is being weighed, the Bearclaw Glass® platform handles bariatric load without flexing, and the EMR validation sends the reading straight into the patient file — no manual entry, no transcription error, no mix-ups between rooms. 800 lbs Capacity (360 kg) 0.1 lb Graduation (50 g) 23.6 × 18.4 in Bearclaw Glass® platform EMR validated Direct-to-record transmission Three pieces of engineering that change how a clinical scale fits a workflow ID-Display™ The display shows the patient's name or ID — and the user's — pulled from a connected barcode scanner before the weight is captured. The reading is bound to the right record at the source, not reconciled after the fact. Bearclaw Glass® platform Seca's tested, break-resistant glass takes the place of the painted steel most clinical scales use. The mortality rate of many germ species on glass exceeds 99%, putting the surface in the same hygiene class as stainless steel while staying easier to wipe down. An anti-slip coating keeps the footing safe. EMR-validated transmission The weight, time of measurement, and patient identifier go straight into the digital patient file over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Centrally stored, available to every authorised user, no rekeying. Why clinics replace older flat scales with the 650 Closes the identification gap A weight value in a chart is only as useful as the patient it's attached to. The ID-Display™ shows whose record is about to be written to, before the value is captured. Built for bariatric patients 800 lbs of capacity, a large low-threshold platform, and a glass surface that does not flex underfoot — patients stepping on at the edge feel solid contact, not a tipping board. Display where it fits the room The universal mount lets the display sit on a tabletop or attach to a wall, so the screen lands where the clinician actually stands instead of where the scale's footprint forces it. Hygiene that survives a real cleaning protocol Glass cleans more aggressively than the painted or plastic surfaces on most clinical scales. Wipe with the disinfectant your facility actually uses, not the one it allows for plastic. A closer look Adjustable damping for fast, precise reads on moving patients The damping system is tunable rather than fixed. On a calm, cooperative patient, dial it down for a near-instant read. On a patient who can't hold still — pediatrics, geriatric care, post-procedure — bring damping up and let the scale settle the value rather than chase the motion. Auto-HOLD locks the reading at the right moment either way. The ID-Display™ is the difference between a number and a record Connect a USB barcode scanner, scan the patient wristband and the user badge, and the display confirms both before the read is taken. The weight, the time-stamp, and the identifiers are stored centrally and available to every authorised user. Mother+child mode and BSA / BMI auto-calculations handle the routine measurement variants without leaving the scale. Built for the patients flat scales fail on Most flat scales are designed around the median patient and break down at the edges of the range. The 650 is built the other way: 800 lbs of rated capacity, a wide low-threshold platform that a patient on a walker or with mobility limits can step onto without negotiating a lip, and seca Bearclaw Glass® rated for absolute breakage resistance under that load. It means the seca 650 is validated to transmit measured data directly into an Electronic Medical Record system or to a printer — no manual entry between the scale and the chart. Connection runs over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with the weight, time of measurement, and patient ID stored centrally and available to every authorised user. How does the ID-Display™ identify a patient? By connecting a USB barcode scanner to the scale. Scanning the patient wristband and user badge brings the name or ID onto the display so both the clinician and the patient can confirm who's being weighed before the value is captured. Can the display be mounted on a wall? Yes. The 650 ships with a universal mount that supports tabletop or wall mounting, so the display can sit wherever it works best for the room layout. Is the glass platform actually safe under bariatric load? Yes. The platform uses seca Bearclaw Glass®, which seca rates for absolute breakage resistance, with the scale rated to 800 lbs / 360 kg of capacity. An anti-slip coating keeps the surface non-slip in wet or post-shower conditions. How is the platform cleaned and disinfected? Wipe down with standard surface disinfectants. Glass is easier to clean than plastic and the mortality rate of many germ species on glass exceeds 99% — seca positions the glass surface as equivalently hygienic to stainless steel. What functions ship as standard? TARE, Pre-TARE, HOLD, Auto-HOLD, CLEAR, Auto-CLEAR, RESET, lbs/kg switch-over (and lock), adjustable damping, BMI and BSA auto-calculation, a Mother+Child function for weighing a child held by an adult, and a Standby mode. The display also shows patient name, ID, and date of birth when a barcode scanner is connected. How does the scale receive power? Through the included power adapter. The 650 is a wired clinical platform — not a battery scale — built around continuous use in a clinic.
