Product Overview Refin Sea Luster Avorio Matte 24" x 48" Porcelain Tile (60 cm x 120 cm) is a luxury, large-format Italian porcelain field tile crafted by Ceramiche Refin. Inspired by sun-bleached coastal minerals, soft marine sediment, and natural limestone textures, the Avorio (Ivory) colorway offers a luminous palette of pale sand, warm off-white, and delicate cream tones with micro-crystalline surface details. Engineered with a smooth, non-glare Matte finish, this 24x48 format offers an expansive visual field that minimizes grout line frequency. It brings refined Mediterranean minimalism and high-end Italian craftsmanship to interior floors, primary bathroom walls, open-concept living spaces, and luxury commercial interiors. Primary Bathroom Suites & Shower Walls: Ideal for full-height vertical installation on shower walls, tub surrounds, and vanity backdrops seeking a spa-like stone appearance. Fireplace Surrounds & Feature Walls: Adds sophisticated architectural scale to living room fireplace breasts and accent walls in residential and commercial settings. Installation & Handling Guidelines ⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING: LARGE-FORMAT TILE PROTOCOL Leveling Clip System Required: Due to the expansive 48-inch length, installers must use a mechanical tile leveling clip system during setting to guarantee perfectly flush edges and eliminate lippage across joints. Thinset Mortar Selection: Set using a high-performance, polymer-modified Large & Heavy Tile (LFT) thinset specified for porcelain tile (ANSI A118.4 or ANSI A118.15 such as MAPEI® Ultraflex LFT or LATICRETE® Multimax Lite). Mortar Coverage & Back-Butter Technique: Back-butter each 24x48 slab AND apply directional mortar comb lines on the substrate to guarantee 95%+ solid mortar coverage in dry areas and 100% coverage in shower zones. Running Bond Offset Rule: When laying in a staggered running bond layout, offset joints by no more than 33% (approx. 16 inches) per TCNA standards to control natural tile bow lippage. Professional Recommendations Dry Lay & Shade Blending: The Sea Luster collection carries subtle natural shade variation (V2 rating). Blend tiles from multiple boxes prior to final setting to distribute soft cream and ivory tones evenly. Grout Color Pairing: Pair with an ivory, off-white, or light warm beige high-performance grout (such as MAPEI® Ultracolor Plus FA in Ivory or Sahara) to achieve a seamless, monolithic stone floor effect. Care & Maintenance Routine Cleaning: Damp mop easily using warm water and a neutral pH floor cleaner. The smooth matte porcelain surface naturally resists water spots, dirt, and foot traffic marks. 100% Stain & Water Proof: Impervious vitrified porcelain body (< 0.05% water absorption) protects against deep staining from wine, oils, coffee, and household chemicals. Zero Sealing Required: Unlike natural travertine or porous limestone slabs, glazed Italian porcelain requires no topical sealers, waxes, or impregnators over its lifespan. Design Profile Aesthetic Inspiration: Coastal Organic Minimalist, Modern Mediterranean, Architectural Resort, Japandi Spa. Visual Dynamic: Gentle mineral veining and micro-textures catch warm indoor lighting, giving large room spaces a calm, airy, and expansive ambiance. Indoor-to-Outdoor System Integration: Pair Sea Luster Avorio Matte 24x48 indoors with Sea Luster Avorio Grip R11 24x48 on adjoining outdoor patios to create a continuous, color-matched floor transition from living areas to exterior terraces. Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between Sea Luster Avorio Matte and Sea Luster Avorio Grip R11? The Matte version features a smooth, non-glare finish designed for indoor living areas, bedrooms, and general interior walls and floors. The Grip R11 version features a micro-textured, high-traction surface engineered specifically for outdoor pool decks, wet terraces, and exterior walkways. Can 24x48 tiles be used on shower walls? Yes! The 24" x 48" format is an exceptional choice for shower walls. Because each panel covers 8 square feet, vertical installations require very few grout lines, resulting in a clean, low-maintenance, slab-like shower enclosure. Does this tile require special sealers after installation? No. Vitrified porcelain from Ceramiche Refin is non-porous and never requires sealers or topical waxes. Simply clean up grout haze promptly during installation, and the tile is completely ready for routine use.
