Sea Goddess Abalone Shell Necklace

Sea Goddess Large Abalone Shell Necklace from the Pacific Ocean. This is a true statement piece about your love for the ocean. This is a larger version of our delicate Silver Abalone Necklace.  Ocean symbolizes love, life, and flow, and Abalone Shell has the energy of the ocean inside. It is also used as an amulet for people who are involved in ocean or water. Abalone Shell is a gemstone with a unique pattern. Many kinds of colors are on the black surface. Abalone reminds us of the beauties of the ocean on a sunny day.  The abalone shell is the crown jewel of the Pacific; its iridescent colors are enchanting. Abalone is a member of the same mollusk family that includes clams, oysters and mussels.  Some call the Abalone's iridescent shell lining Mother of Pearl (which is what the lining of the oyster is also called). This lustrous lining is made of alternating layers of calcium carbonate and conchiolin. Abalone shell lining has been highly prized by jewelry makers for centuries; perhaps because it reminds us of the beauties of the ocean on a sunny day.  The abalone is about 1.5 inch. It dangles from an adjustable size leather cord.  Made with Love in California.
