Sd.Kfz. 251/2 Ausf. D

Sd.Kfz. 251/2 Ausf. D miniature, representing the German mortar carrier variant of the armored half-track used during World War II. Based on the Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. D chassis, this version was equipped with an 8 cm mortar mounted in the rear compartment, providing mobile indirect fire support for infantry units. Designed to accompany Panzergrenadier formations, the Sd.Kfz. 251/2 allowed mortar crews to quickly deploy, fire, and relocate as battlefield conditions changed. The Ausf. D featured a simplified hull design with fewer armor plates, improving production efficiency while maintaining effective protection. Used extensively during the later years of the war on fronts including the Eastern Front and Western Europe, this mortar carrier variant is perfect for WWII dioramas, wargaming forces, or historical vehicle collections in multiple scales.
