SCSU 1896 Heritage Shirt

Some will see a number. We see a beginning. 1896 represents the founding year of South Carolina State University, a legacy built on resilience, education, and opportunity when access was not guaranteed. This shirt honors that legacy with a clean, elevated design made for those who understand what it means to carry it forward. We understand the word “WOKE” has taken on different meanings over time. For us, it’s not political, it’s principled. If you ask what it means to us, this is our answer: W — Wealth Building stability, creating opportunity, and establishing something that can be passed down. Wealth is about legacy, not just income. O — Ownership Taking control of our ideas, our businesses, and our future. Ownership positions us to lead, not follow. K — Knowledge Understanding our history and how to move forward with intention. Knowledge allows us to act with clarity and purpose. E — Empowerment Taking action to uplift ourselves and others. Empowerment turns potential into progress. If you know, you know. If you ask, we’ll tell you. Why It Matters This isn’t just a shirt, it’s a reminder: Of where we started Of what we’ve built Of what we’re responsible to continue Designed for those who recognize that legacy is not given, it’s carried forward.
