Screaming Eagle 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon 1.5L

The 2017 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon, while crafted amidst a challenging vintage in Napa Valley due to wildfires, still exemplifies the estate’s exceptional winemaking prowess. Despite the difficulties of the growing season, this wine emerges with remarkable elegance, balance, and purity. On the nose, it delivers captivating aromas of ripe blackberries, blackcurrant, and plum, accompanied by delicate floral hints of violet and lilac. Subtle undertones of graphite, cedar, and dark chocolate lend complexity, while a hint of crushed herbs adds a layer of freshness. On the palate, the 2017 Screaming Eagle reveals a rich, velvety texture with finely tuned tannins and a well-balanced structure. Dark fruit flavors such as blackberry and cassis dominate, intertwined with notes of black tea, tobacco, and a touch of earthiness. Despite the intensity of the fruit, the wine maintains a sense of lightness and vibrancy, thanks to its lively acidity and refined tannins. The finish is long and polished, leaving lingering impressions of dark chocolate, crushed stone, and sweet spices. While the 2017 vintage might not have the same power as its predecessors, it is celebrated for its finesse, grace, and subtlety. This wine is poised to evolve beautifully in the cellar over the coming decades, making it a testament to Screaming Eagle’s unwavering commitment to quality even in difficult years.
