Narrow Pear Scratchboard Earrings

Blue/green grass scratchboard design set in a narrow sterling silver pear with sterling silver ear wires.  Janet's pieces consist of fine line organic and geometric drawings. She creates these drawings on scratchboard with various tools which scratch through the black ink surface of Museum Series Scratchboard. The drawings are then sealed with multiple coats of an acrylic sealer to protect the image. After the drawings are sealed, they are then cut out with a jewelers saw and mounted in sterling silver with a strong glue. The sterling is then waxed to slow the patina that naturally occurs over time. These pieces are not waterproof and therefore should not be worn in the shower or any other body of water.
