Scratch Awl Kits

The Blue Spruce Scratch Awl Kit offers a range of lengths and tip grinds to cover projects from jewelry boxes to kitchen cabinets. Drilling accuracy begins with a physical locator instead of just a pencil mark. Even a tiny hole in your workpiece will give the drill bit a center to locate on, rather than scooting off-target when you start. The smaller and more detailed your project, the more important the perfect location becomes. When installing tiny jewelry box hardware, the .125" awl, with its shorter shaft length and needle-like point, provides the control you need for pinpoint accuracy. For larger scale work, the .187" awl brings more reach and a more defined hole. The .187" bird-cage tip will actually drill a hole with a simple twist of your wrist. It's invaluable when working with dense exotics and tricky grains.    All 3 awls fit in the same comfortable handle, held perfectly centered by our collet system. Just close the collet on the tool of choice and it's held in place as securely as a router bit in your router.  The kit includes two collets, one for the two .187" diameter awls and a smaller one for the tiny .125" awl. Tools in cases and pouches tend to end up in the bottom of drawers and forgotten when they're needed. Plus, this tool is just too attractive to hide. So, we've included a wall-mountable Rack-It to keep your Scratch Awl Kit right in plain sight and always within easy reach. There's a safe and secure location for all 3 blades, both collets and the handle. The Scratch Awl Kit dovetails with the rest of our Marking System. We offer a wide range of blade styles and handle options that all work with the same collet system. You can add blades and collets anytime you face a new layout challenge.  PLEASE ALLOW 3-4 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY.
