Scott Torus Helmet

Though providing protection is the number one purpose of any helmet, being comfortable and looking good are also two key elements to a successful helmet. The Scott Torus Plus Helmet checks all these boxes and more so you can feel confident using it for your daily commute or your fixed gear circuit races. Since safety represents the most important aspect of the Scott Torus Plus, the fact that they have incorporated their Mips Brain Protection system into the helmet proves that they are not messing around with the Torus Plus. The Mips Brain Protection system is the design that looks at just what happens when a rider suffers a fast moving accident where the head takes the brunt of the impact. Most helmets are designed for straight-on impacts, not taking into account that most of the time, a cyclist will be hitting the ground at an angle with velocity. The Mips is a low friction liner inside the helmet that has been designed to allow the head to rotate relative to the helmet’s angle impact. By absorbing the violent rotational energy of the impact, the Mips helmets will reduce the shock transmitted to your brain. By combining the Mips system with their ABS hard-shell and EPS shock absorbing interior, Scott has created a tight package that will mitigate the results of any untoward incident all of us cyclists are in danger of having. The Scott Torus Plus, unlike the road helmets Scott produces, also gives what they call Extended Coverage at the back. That means that the protective shell extends well below the back of your ears, to safeguard that sensitive area of your noggin. And if you have avoided wearing head protection largely because other helmets you’ve tried have been uncomfortable, then give a good look to the Scott LW Fit System. The LW Fit System is an elasticated fit system designed for convenience and comfort. It is Scott’s most adjustable fit system to ensure a perfect fit for a wide range of head shapes, hair lengths and even if you want to wear a cap underneath. Set it up according to your fit needs on the first day and then forget about it. The elasticated component ensures a snug fit every time without the need for any adjustment. The Scott Torus Plus Helmet has been designed using the most advanced methods in order to protect you on all your two-wheel outings. With the care Scott put into the design, it should come as no surprise that it meets all CPSC standards.
