Scott Spark RC World Cup Frame + Fork

The Scott Spark RC World Cup Frame + Fork is Gen5 Spark RC built around Öhlins suspension — a pairing that gives this frameset a distinct identity in the Spark RC lineup and a clear appeal to a specific kind of XC racer. Where the SL frameset ships with RockShox Flight Attendant's automated electronic control, the World Cup pairs the same Gen5 frame architecture with an Öhlins RXC34 M.1 Air fork and TXC2 Air Custom rear shock — manual, tunable, and the suspension philosophy of choice for teams and riders who want direct control over their damping setup. The frame is Spark RC HMF carbon, Gen5 — the same high-modulus layup used in the Team Issue complete bike. The suspension architecture is shared across the entire RC family: a short-link linkage rotates around the bottom bracket, with a pivot just below the crankset, delivering four-bar-like performance through a single-pivot design. A flex pivot manages the initial compliance at the top of travel before the system ramps progressively through the remaining 120mm. The rear shock mounts inside the reinforced downtube, keeping the arrangement compact and the weight distribution centered. The Syncros Acros headset includes a ±0.5° angle-adjust with integrated fork lock — the head tube can be brought to 65.4° for technical courses, and the lock holds the setting against handlebar input during hard cornering. Syncros Octopus Gen2 cable routing runs all lines fully internally through the headset, color-coded and flexible, compatible with AXS or mechanical component builds. The frame uses a BSA threaded bottom bracket shell — simpler to service and compatible with a wider range of bottom brackets than press-fit alternatives — 12x148mm rear spacing, and UDH derailleur interface. Öhlins is a Swedish suspension manufacturer whose roots are in motorcycle racing and whose products have run at the front of World Cup XC fields for years. The RXC34 M.1 Air fork uses the OTX14R damper in a 3-mode configuration — lockout, pedaling support, and open — with a 15x110mm axle and rebound adjustment across 120mm of travel. The TXC2 Air Custom rear shock (190x45mm) runs the same 3-mode system with rebound adjustment. Both are operated manually via a lever or handlebar remote, not wirelessly. Öhlins suspension is known for a distinctive damping character — a feel many riders describe as more direct and more adjustable to course-specific conditions than electronic systems that manage modes automatically. For the racer who checks fork pressure and clicker positions before every event, the World Cup frameset is the Spark RC built to match that approach. Manual control means setup is on you, but it also means the suspension is exactly where you put it. Neither the fork nor the shock requires a battery or wireless pairing. They work independently and follow standard Öhlins service intervals. For a team mechanic or rider who handles their own suspension maintenance, that's a practical consideration — no firmware updates, no charging, no connectivity issues on race morning. At $4,999, this is the most accessible entry point in the Gen5 Spark RC frameset range — $3,000 less than the SL frameset — and the logical choice for a custom XC build with Öhlins suspension at its core. The threaded BSA bottom bracket shell accepts virtually any drivetrain without compatibility concerns. The frame is rated for forks up to 130mm travel. Included are the Syncros Save the Day kit (spare tube and multi-tool stored in frame) and a transport axle. A BSA bottom bracket, drivetrain, wheels, handlebar, stem, seatpost, and saddle are needed to complete the build. The Spark RC World Cup Frame + Fork is available in Cumulus White / Carbon Black in sizes Small through XL on 29-inch wheels. For a rider building a custom mountain bike frameset on the Gen5 Spark RC platform — with the suspension preference and control that the World Cup name implies — this is where to start.
