Most pond aeration problems start at the bottom. Organic matter settles, oxygen levels drop near the sediment, and that's where algae, muck, and fish stress originate. The XL uses two panels, two compressors, and four diffusers, and scales to ponds up to 5 acres. Both systems rate to 30+ feet of depth. The compressor is brushless — worth understanding why that matters. Most inexpensive solar aerators use brushed motors that wear out in 2-4 years. The brushless compressor here is rated for over three times the service life. It's also quieter: under 65 dB at 6 feet. The enclosure is fiberglass-reinforced and powder-coated — it doesn't rust, and the locking hasps keep the control section secure. Pressure gauges are liquid-filled stainless steel.
