Scoring Lessons

Wesley Hayes is known for two things: breaking hearts with that too-innocent smile and being the team's clown. He’s the guy with the easy laugh, reckless charm, and the life of the party—the man who never takes anything seriously. At least, that’s what everyone believes. He’s fought tooth and nail for his spot on the Chicago Strikers. But without a contract extension, when the season ends, so could everything he’s worked his entire life for. For the first time, the jokes feel forced. The pressure is real. And getting distracted isn’t an option. Olivia Anderson never planned on starting over. Again. New city. New job. Another shot at something real. She’s done wanting for things she can’t have—and determined to take back the years she spent forgetting who she was. The only problem? Her temporary living arrangement comes with one very familiar complication. Her brother’s best friend. Her lifelong annoyance. They’ve always argued like it’s a sport and pushed each other’s buttons. But forced proximity has a way of turning tension into something far more dangerous. Especially when Olivia makes a confession she never meant to say out loud. She’s tired of being inexperienced. Tired of not knowing what she wants—or how to ask for it. Wesley should shut it down. Instead, he offers to teach her. What starts as innocent lessons turns into the inevitable crossed line they can’t come back from.
