Schramsberg 2015 J. Schram Sparkling Wine

Schramsberg's top of the line J. Schram cuvee gets our nod as the finest sparkling wine produced in California. Consistently beats many top French Champagne houses in blind tastings. A treat for any special occasion or Champagne lover. 95 Points Wine Enthusiast "Editor's Choice":  "This is a well-aged, reserve-style sparkling wine that is one of California’s best. It delivers abundant and distinctive flavors without losing its cool. The wine has attractively smoky, toasty and perfectly mature fruit aromas, and unfolds into complex, spicy and appealingly earthy flavors. The texture is plush and the finish long and smooth." The Schramsberg J. Schram opens with aromas of glazed pineapple, orange marmalade and crisp green apples. Just-baked puff pastry and rich creamy notes are derived from barrel fermentation (38%) and yeast aging. This powerful wine showcases the bright citrus and tangy, tropical fruit of the Tognetti, Hyde and Schwarze Chardonnay Vineyards in southern Napa in the Carneros region. The addition of 24% Pinot Noir lends subtle red fruit aromas and gives breadth to both the nose and palate. A creamy yet refreshing wine, with a long, seamless finish. Composed of 74% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir.
