School Mates Bundle

Three schools. One aquarium. Class is officially in session. Some fish are simply better with classmates. Schooling and social nano fish naturally seek the company of their own species, but building a balanced community aquarium means thinking about more than just color. You also want fish that bring activity to different areas of the tank. The School Mates Bundle makes it easy. We've paired three peaceful nano fish species in groups of six, with each school bringing its own color, personality, and activity to a different level of your aquarium. Green Neon Rasboras shimmer through the upper water column. Ember Tetras bring glowing orange color through the middle. Pygmy Corydoras explore down below. It's the ultimate Back to School special—with a very aquatic interpretation of the word school. What You'll Receive You will receive: 6 Green Neon Rasboras 6 Ember Tetras 6 Pygmy Corydoras 18 nano fish total 3 species. 3 schools. 18 classmates. Why We Built This Bundle A great community aquarium isn't created by randomly adding fish. It's created by choosing species that complement one another. The School Mates Bundle brings together three peaceful nano fish species that provide different colors, behaviors, and swimming patterns throughout the aquarium. Instead of having every fish competing for the same visual space, this bundle helps create activity from top to bottom. Upper School Green Neon Rasbora These tiny green showstoppers add bright, shimmering movement toward the upper and upper-middle portions of a planted aquarium. Class Superlative: Most Likely to Glow Middle School Ember Tetra Their warm orange coloration creates beautiful contrast against green plants while their relaxed swimming adds activity throughout the center of the aquarium. Class Superlative: Best Dressed Lower School Pygmy Corydora These tiny explorers spend much of their time around the lower portions of the aquarium, investigating plants, hardscape, and substrate together. Don't be surprised when they occasionally join the action higher in the water column too. Class Superlative: Most Likely to Wander Off During Class Together, they create a community aquarium that feels active without relying on large or aggressive fish. Perfect For Planted aquariums Nano fish communities Peaceful freshwater community tanks Shrimp and nano fish aquariums Aquascapes needing more movement Hobbyists starting a new community tank Existing aquariums needing peaceful schooling fish Anyone who wants color and activity throughout the water column Bundle Care Requirements Difficulty: Easy to Moderate Temperament: Peaceful Recommended Aquarium Size: 20 gallons or larger Temperature: 72–78°F pH: 6.4–7.4 Water Hardness: Soft to Moderately Hard Aquarium Style: Planted aquariums are highly recommended These species overlap well in their preferred freshwater conditions, making them a natural combination for peaceful planted community aquariums. Stable, fully cycled water is always recommended before introducing live fish. Three Schools. Three Levels. One of the biggest advantages of the School Mates Bundle is how the three species visually complement one another. Upper Water Column Green Neon Rasboras Bright green flashes and energetic group movement. Middle Water Column Ember Tetras Warm orange coloration and gentle midwater activity. Lower Water Column Pygmy Corydoras Curious little explorers moving between plants, hardscape, and the substrate. These aren't rigid boundaries—the fish will naturally explore throughout the aquarium—but each species tends to bring its own type of activity to the community. The result is an aquarium that feels alive from top to bottom. Why Six of Each? Nobody should have to show up to school alone. Each species in this bundle is social and benefits from being kept with others of its own kind. That's why the School Mates Bundle includes six individuals of every species rather than one or two fish from a long list of varieties. The goal isn't simply to give you more fish. It's to give you three actual groups. Keeping these fish with classmates of their own species can encourage greater confidence and allow you to enjoy more of the natural social behavior that makes nano community tanks so fascinating to watch. Aquascaping for Your School Mates A planted aquarium gives these fish the combination of open swimming space and natural cover they appreciate. For a balanced layout, consider: Upper areas: Open swimming lanes surrounded by taller background plants Midwater: Open corridors between stems and driftwood Lower areas: Shaded hardscape, low plants, and open substrate for Pygmy Corydoras Tank edges: Dense planting that provides somewhere to retreat when fish want cover The goal is simple: Give them somewhere to school and somewhere to disappear. Great With Planted Aquariums The colors in this bundle were selected with planted tanks in mind. The electric green shimmer of Green Neon Rasboras stands out beautifully against darker plants and hardscape. Ember Tetras add a glowing orange contrast. Pygmy Corydoras bring their own subtle pattern and constant curiosity to the lower landscape. Together, the three schools add movement without visually overpowering the aquascape itself. Shipping Live fish are carefully inspected and packed for shipment with their health and safety in mind. Because these are living animals, individual fish will naturally vary slightly in size, coloration, and markings. Please make sure your aquarium is fully cycled and ready for livestock before your School Mates arrive. Looking for Inspiration? The aquarium shown in our product photos demonstrates one example of how all three schools can occupy different areas of a planted aquarium. Use it as inspiration when designing your own layout. Give the rasboras open space above. Give the tetras room to cruise through the middle. Give the Pygmy Corydoras plenty to investigate down below. Then let the class settle in. Recommended Water Parameters All three species can thrive within a compatible range of freshwater conditions. pH: 6.4–7.4 GH: 3–10 KH: 1–6 Temperature: 72–78°F Flow: Gentle to Moderate Lighting: Any standard planted aquarium lighting Aquarium Size: 20 gallons or larger recommended A stable, mature aquarium with good filtration, regular water changes, and plenty of plant cover will provide the best environment for the entire bundle.
