Schofield Kid Classic Cowboy Hat

Schofield Kid Classic Cowboy Hat To make our Schofield Kid Classic Cowboy hat we  refined the look of the movie hat by adding a bit of a kettle curl and hand roll.  Like the movie version we’ve added a wider brim to the classic bowler crown. An authentic 19th century cowboy hat design that would feel at home anywhere in the old west. Jaimz Woolvett does a masterful job portraying the Schofield Kid. He’s an arrogant,1/2 blind, wanna be gun fighter, in Clint Eastwood’s’ acclaimed Oscar winning western, Unforgiven. The story is gritty and realistic and the acting is as good as it gets. The film begins as the Kid rides onto the homestead of an aged gunman, Will Munny. Because of his uncle’s recommendation, he offers Will the chance to throw in with him, chasing down some bounty. With 2 young children, no money and a bleak future the old gun fighter gets his pal Ned Logan to come along.  The three of them set off to Wyoming to kill a couple of cowboys who cut up a saloon girl. A Note about our Cowboy Hat Colors Please note that color variances caused by individual computer monitors are beyond our control. The best way to compare our hat colors is by viewing them all together in the group image below. Light colors will reflect heat the best – while dark colors will retain the heat the most – with black being the worst for staying hot (black absorbs sunlight). However black is the most formal color so bowlers and top hats were generally black or dark grey. For the first 15-20 years cowboy hats were marketed – your choice of color was black and about 3 shades of brown. See all of our Hats here. One of the most powerful scenes in film history between Will Munny and the Schofield Kid, from Eastwood’s Best Picture winning western film, Unforgiven.
