Scarlet Colorama Crapemyrtle Treebute Kit: A Living Tribute of Strength and Renewal The Scarlet Colorama Crapemyrtle is a vibrant ornamental tree that celebrates life with resilience and color. In Korean tradition, the crape myrtle is called bearong namu, meaning "hundred days crimson," and its extended flowering season has long symbolized devoted, enduring love. Each Treebute Kit includes everything needed to plant a memorial tree at home - a comforting experience many people find grounding during grief. This complete memorial tree kit is designed to be simple and meaningful at home. As your Crape Myrtle grows, it offers month after month of vivid color - a bold, beautiful reminder that love endures, even when it must transform. Why You’ll Love the Scarlet Colorama Crapemyrtle A Hundred Days of Brilliant Color: Most flowering trees bloom for a week or two. The Scarlet Colorama blooms for months - from early summer until the first frost - covering itself in clusters of deep scarlet-red flowers that look like crinkled crepe paper. It's an extended season of beauty that feels especially meaningful for a memorial. Year-Round Appeal: This tree never stops giving. In spring, burgundy-tinged leaves emerge. Summer brings those fiery red blooms. Fall transforms the foliage to brilliant orange and red. And in winter, the smooth, peeling bark reveals cinnamon and tan layers - sculptural beauty even without leaves. There is no season when this tree is not beautiful. Symbol of Resilience and Devoted Love: Crape myrtles have symbolized enduring love and devotion for centuries across cultures. They represent strength, resilience, and the ability to thrive through difficult conditions. Low Maintenance: Once established, the Scarlet Colorama is drought-tolerant, heat-tolerant, and disease-resistant. It thrives in challenging conditions with minimal care - a fitting quality for a memorial that you want to last for decades. This tree asks for very little while giving so much, Attracts Life to Your Garden: Butterflies, bees, and even hummingbirds are drawn to these vivid blooms. There's something comforting about planting a memorial that brings life and movement to your space - your tree becomes part of a living ecosystem, not just a quiet marker. Nurturing Your Memorial Tree: Even if you’re new to planting, the Crapemyrtle is hardy and low-maintenance - perfect for creating a living memorial that lasts for years. Light: Full sun is essential - at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. The more sun, the more blooms. Water: Water deeply during the first growing season. Once established, the Scarlet Colorama is drought-tolerant and needs water only during extended dry periods. Soil: Adaptable to many soil types - from clay to loam - as long as drainage is good. Slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal. Pruning: Light pruning in late winter or early spring shapes the tree and encourages even more blooms. No heavy pruning needed - let your tree grow naturally Each moment caring for your tree - watering through the first summer, watching the blooms multiply year after year - becomes a quiet act of remembrance. Optional: Plant with Cremation Ashes - The Treebute® Difference For those wishing to include cremation ashes, each Treebute Kit offers the option to add Treebute® organic soil blend. This scientifically formulated mixture balances the naturally high pH and sodium levels in cremated remains, safely transforming them into a nourishing foundation for your tree - transforming ashes into living growth. It’s a gentle, healing option if and when the time feels right. Your tree is meaningful with or without ashes - this is simply another way to honor someone you love.
