Step into the heart of a beloved family kitchen with Sáng, a vibrant collection of 100 recipes celebrating the bold, comforting flavors of Korean cuisine. Inspired by the restaurant of the same name, this cookbook brings together crispy Korean fried chicken, bubbling kimchi-jjigae, handcrafted banchan, and indulgent, chewy desserts—capturing the essence of homestyle cooking at its most generous and soulful. Written by designer-turned-restaurateur Kenny Son, the book weaves together food and family story. Recipes reflect a rich blend of influences, from his father’s clean, city-style dishes rooted in Seoul to his mother’s hearty, seafood-driven flavors from Korea’s coastal regions. Contributions from pastry chef Youmee Jeon round out the collection with thoughtfully crafted desserts and ferments. With its balance of tradition and approachability, Sáng offers a complete look at the Korean table—inviting home cooks to explore regional depth while creating deeply satisfying meals to share every day.
