Sand Sifting Starfish

The Sand Sifting Starfish is a great addition to established aquariums, known for its ability to keep sandbeds clean. Unlike many other starfish, it spends most of its time buried in the sand, blending in with its brown or beige coloration. As omnivores, they consume uneaten food, algae, and detritus, helping maintain a healthy tank environment. Peaceful and reef-safe, they won’t harm corals or other invertebrates. However, it’s essential to ensure your sandbed is mature and has enough natural food, as these starfish can starve once available resources are depleted.
