Samuel Smith Gift Box

Samuel Smith Gift Box (3 Ales & 1 Glass) Brewed by: Samuel Smith Brewery Country: England Style: Various Organic Chocolate Stout (ABV 5%) — A deeply roasty stout with chocolate-malt richness and the signature fruity esters of Samuel Smith’s yeast strain. It delivers a full body and a lush chocolate aroma, taste, and finish. Nut Brown Ale (ABV 5%) — A classic English brown ale, dry and medium-bodied, with malt-derived nutty tones reminiscent of hazelnut or walnut (despite containing no actual nuts). Its finish carries a subtle fruitiness — a hallmark of the Samuel Smith ale yeast — making this beer balanced and easy-drinking. Organic Pale Ale (ABV 5%) — A copper-colored, malt-accented pale ale built with organic ingredients. Expect gentle fruity esters from the yeast, a hint of caramel sweetness from crystal malt, and a clean, classic British-style finish. The Samuel Smith Gift Box offers a well-rounded tasting experience: from the deep chocolate richness of the stout, to the nutty maltiness of the brown ale, to the lighter, balanced character of the pale ale. It’s a thoughtful choice for anyone who appreciates traditional British brewing — or wants a sampler “pub-in-a-box.” Brewery Information: Samuel Smith Old Brewery at Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, England was founded in 1758 and is Yorkshire’s oldest brewery. It is one of the few remaining independent exporting breweries in England and is the last to utilize the classic Yorkshire Square system with stone “Yorkshire Squares” (constructed of Welsh slate) for fermentation. The brewery is living tradition. Hops are hand-weighed by the master hop blender, and the brewing water is drawn from the original well, sunk more than 250 years ago. The rich Samuel Smith strain of yeast dates from the early 1900s -- making it one of the oldest unchanged strains in the country. The brewery still uses Shire horses to draw drays around Tadcaster five days a week, delivering beer in barrels made by the brewery’s cooper. Samuel Smith beers and ciders are UK Soil Association and USDA Certified Organic. Many are vegan, registered with The Vegan Society. Samuel Smith also operates over 200 traditional pubs (including 20 in central London) -- in which background music, television and mobile devices are banned in order to encourage friendly pub conversation.
