SAMENESS IS OUR STRENGTH

A FOCUSED ARGUMENT FOR NATIONALISM AND AGAINST MASS IMMIGRATION SAMENESS IS OUR STRENGTH presents Chapters 7 and 8 from CHRIST OR COLLAPSE: The Case Against Godless Government to explore: - Research proving diversity weakens society and that the effects of immigration are now mostly negative - Why Rightly Ordered Love means putting your fellow citizens ahead of people from other nations - How multigenerational citizens of the United States and Canada are distinct peoples; why the claim “We’re a nation of immigrants” is false The larger work, CHRIST OR COLLAPSE, diagnoses the post-1960s breakdown of social cohesion, moral order, and collective life in the U.S. and Canada and presents a clear path toward renewal. Drawing on an extensive body of historical and social-scientific research, it makes the case that Christian norms and values must once again guide governance to reverse civilizational decline. While its arguments will resonate deeply with devout Christians, the book also appeals to open-minded non-believers by grounding its claims almost exclusively in empirical evidence rather than theological assertion. Christ or Collapse seeks not a religious revival as such, but the restoration of the political philosophy that built the West—Traditional Conservatism—although it recognizes that renewed religious life is essential to the endurance of that philosophy. 162 pages Hardcover ISBN: 978-0-89900-508-9     Paperback ISBN: 978-0-89900-469-3     Ebook ISBN: 978-0-89900-475-4 Audiobook ISBN: 978-0-89900-481-5 **All E-book and audiobook sales are final. For over two decades, he has served as a professor at Wilfrid Laurier University, cross-appointed to the Religious Studies and Journalism programs. Before earning his PhD and entering academia, he worked as a TV reporter and newspaper columnist. His research focuses on Christianity in contemporary society, particularly the factors that advance and sustain Christian communities, and includes critical study of ideologies and movements that oppose Christianity and their detrimental eIects on society. In a recent national news article, public intellectual Jordan B. Peterson named Dr. Haskell among five leading academics confronting the progressive, or ‘woke,’ assault on Canadian institutions, singling him out for his unflinching civic engagement. His studies showing that conservative theology drives church success received national and international media attention, with coverage in Canada’s Globe and Mail, America’s Washington Post, and the UK’s Guardian. More recently, his work showing that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives lack empirical support and harm society was featured in newspapers across Canada, cited in Forbes Magazine, and used by U.S. state legislators and Canadian federal politicians to argue for policy change. His earlier scholarship examined the news media’s biased coverage of conservative Christians, and his book on that subject remains a leading resource on the issue. Dr. Haskell is president of Haskell Strategic Communications Inc., where he and his team conduct original research and assist conservative organizations in developing and amplifying their messages. An ordained pastor, he leads a weekly young adult ministry and serves as a research fellow with several think tanks. He writes and speaks internationally in defense of conservative values and Christian principles. He is married and has five children.
