SAMe 200 - 60 Tablets

Description  Klaire Labs SAMe 200 Versatile Nutrient Supports Mood Regulation, Joints, and Liver Function SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) is a natural compound made in the body from the essential amino acid L-methionine. It is involved in a number of body processes, including membrane function, neurotransmission, liver detoxification, and bone and joint health. Although SAMe can be synthesized in the body, it is dependent upon the presence of sufficient levels of other nutrients including methionine, folic acid, and vitamin B12. Dietary supplementation of SAMe is an effective way to support optimal levels of this compound. Low levels of SAMe may result in lowered serotonin levels, a brain chemical that supports mood and emotional well-being. SAMe is also required for nerve regeneration. SAMe has been shown in numerous controlled clinical trials to support a healthy mood. SAMe has been shown in animal studies to support cartilage growth and repair. In numerous human clinical trials, SAMe has demonstrated benefits for joint structure and function comparable or superior to those of other sulfur-containing nutrients such as glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM. Research suggests that the mechanism of action behind this benefit may be due to this compound’s support of cartilage formation. SAMe donates methyl groups to create other compounds in a process called methylation. Methyl groups are crucial for formation of cell components including proteins, nucleic acids found in DNA and RNA, and phospholipids that form nerve cell membranes. Creatine, involved in energy production, and melatonin are also formed from SAMe. The sulfur content of SAMe is used to support synthesis of cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and bones and to form amino acids and peptides such as glutathione, cysteine, and taurine that detoxify foreign substances in the liver. How does SAMe benefit mood and emotional well-being? Low levels of SAMe may result in lowered serotonin levels, a brain chemical that supports mood and emotional well-being. SAMe is also required for nerve regeneration. SAMe has been shown in numerous controlled clinical trials to support healthy mood. What effects does SAMe have on joint function? SAMe has been shown in animal studies to support cartilage growth and repair. In numerous human clinical trials, SAMe has demonstrated benefits for joint structure and function comparable or superior to those of other sulfur-containing nutrients such as glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and MSM. Research suggests that the mechanism of action behind this benefit may be due to this compound’s support of cartilage formation. How does SAMe 200 from Klaire Labs™ compare with other SAMe products? Klaire Labs™ provides pharmaceutical-grade, stabilized SAMe that is manufactured under low-temperature and low-humidity conditions. An enteric tablet coating, resistant to gastric acidity, helps to further ensure a biologically active product. Only SAMe products that are thus protected have demonstrated efficacy. Klaire Labs™ SAMe 200 is provided in individual foil blister-packets to maximize product stability. Each tablet contains a full 200 mg of elemental SAMe from 400 mg SAMe tosylate disulfate. Some products do not indicate the actual SAMe content, only the amount of the compound. Thus, it may be difficult to compare various products.
