Samaritan® Dogwood Tree

A stunning addition with creamy-white bracts and vibrant fall color The Samaritan® Dogwood Tree is a captivating choice for any garden, offering an eye-catching combination of lush foliage and beautiful blooms. Its leaves are strikingly unique, featuring a green center adorned with creamy-white margins that add a touch of elegance. In late spring, the tree bursts into life with long-lasting, creamy-white flower bracts, creating a delightful display that draws the eye and beckons admiration. Each season brings new beauty, as the fruit transitions from a refreshing green to charming pink and finally deep red hues in the fall. This tree's growth habit is equally appealing, forming a rounded-vase shape that provides a graceful structure in your landscape. It's perfect for adding height and nature's art to your yard, and its vibrant fall color ensures that even as the air turns crisp, your garden remains alive with the warm glow of pinkish-red leaves. With its combination of visual appeal and seasonal interest, the Samaritan® Dogwood Tree is not just a plant—it's a centerpiece that brings character and warmth to your outdoor space. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Choose a location that receives partial to full sun and has well-drained soil. Dig a hole that is twice the width of the root ball but no deeper than its height. Place the tree in the hole, making sure that the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill the hole with soil and water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and control weeds. 2. Watering: Water your Samaritan® Dogwood Tree regularly, especially during its first year as it establishes its root system. It prefers consistent moisture but avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Once established, it is somewhat drought-tolerant, but a thorough watering during dry spells helps maintain the tree's vibrant foliage and flower display. 3. Pruning: Minimal pruning is required for this tree, but it’s best to shape it in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead or crossing branches to improve air circulation and encourage a balanced shape. Regular maintenance pruning can help enhance its ornamental features and promote a healthy growth habit. 4. Fertilizing: In early spring, apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer to provide essential nutrients. This helps support healthy foliage growth and vibrant blooms. It’s advisable to follow the manufacturer's instructions when applying fertilizer and adjust based on the tree’s specific needs and the quality of your soil.
