Salpico Angled Mug - Blue Dots

The Salpico Angled Mug is a fantastic handmade mug that is hand thrown from terracotta before being coated on the outside with a crisp white glaze and hand painted with a blue spatter pattern to make a unique artisan mug. Made by a Portuguese potter the beautiful mugs will make your cups of tea or coffee an even more special and uplifting ritual.  Designed by Casa Cubista, a company passionate about contemporary design, craftsmanship and Portuguese heritage. The ceramics range is all made in the coastal town of Olhao in Portugal by a family that been in the pottery business for 200 years. Ruis throws the pottery on his wheel before it is hand painted by his aunt Regina. Bold and colourful, the Salpico mugs and other terracotta tableware make a nice change to the more muted tones and simple designs usually seen in tableware. Before first use, wash the mugs with hot soapy water, rinse well and allow to air dry. To maintain the integrity of the mugs (i.e. glaze and colour) it is not recommended that the mug is used in a dishwasher or microwave. As each piece is handmade there may be slight changes in each piece and slight colour variations, which is indicative of the material and the handmade process. Some marks in the glaze are natural and expected, as is some crazing. This will not affect the use or durability of the pieces. COLOURS White glaze with blue spatter on exterior. Terracotta interior.
