This is What They Said It Would Be Like, by Violet Piper

Prose, chapbook, 32 pages, from Bottlecap Features. This is What They Said It Would Be Like is Violet Piper’s debut collection of essays, poems, and several formats somewhere between those. On her commute, she grapples with the maximalism of this moment, with strangers, with the shadows of her past and future selves, and with her simultaneous veneration of and contempt for her iPhone. Violet Piper is a writer from Brooklyn with a BS in astrophysics and an MA in creative publishing and critical journalism. She is passionate about songwriting, summer camp, and keeping print magazines alive.
