Sage Shift Reels

Sage Shift reels have replaced the Sage Spectrum series and are quite an improvement. Fully machined out 6061 aluminum featuring their bombproof SCS drag system with an improved seal. The Shift series of reels sports a large arbor for fast line retrieval with a concave spool for more line capacity. A one revolution drag knob to easily adjust during a fight, with 20 numbered detented settings so you always know where you're at. One thing we've noticed on the Shift reels comparing them to the Spectrum series is that the tolerances seem to be a lot tighter and the quality of the reel overall feels much nicer. When you put some torque on the reel there's little to no wobble from the spool to the frame of the reel. So rest assure, whether it's 8 inch cutthroat you're after or 50 pound tarpon, the Sage Shift is going to perform!  Here is what Sage has to say about their Sage Shift reels: Multipurpose reels that cover the entire spectrum of fly-fishing applications from tributary trout pursuits to ocean-side tarpon patrol. SHIFT comes equipped with Sage’s proprietary SCS Drag package, featuring an upgraded seal system and tuned per size to match the mission at hand. One revolution drag knob represented throughout the series allows for ease of adjustment and reliable, consistent, repeatable drag pressure. Just select the desired weight and feature set for your fishing application and SHIFT into high gear. Taking its take-charge cue from the versatile SPECTRUM series, the fully machined 6061 aluminum SHIFT blends the best of narrow spool width and large arbor design for the ultimate in easy stacking, ultrafast line pickup. With a concave spool surface for optimal line capacity and drag-assisting smoothness, lightweight SHIFT is packed with the upleveled tech you’d expect to find on higher-priced reels.
