Sage™ 5 Lightweight Salt®

The most popular member of our unique Sage™ Series of folding knives, the Sage 5 Lightweight has also proven itself to be a perfect platform for showcasing the elite properties of high-performance blade steels. In that spirit, the Sage 5 Lightweight Salt proudly features a blade crafted from CPM® MagnaCut®—a revolutionary particle metallurgy steel that offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, and the extreme corrosion resistance we require of our Salt® Series knives. The full-flat-ground, PlainEdge™ blade is supported by a high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism housed within a lightweight, open-backed handle with fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) scales. Molded in a high-visibility yellow color, the scales feature a Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a secure, non-slip grip and are home to a reversible, deep-pocket wire clip. Like all Salt Series folders, the clip, liners, and all handle hardware are also crafted from marine-grade materials. Spyderco will donate approximately 5% of sales of the Sage line to the National Alzheimer's Association Denver, Colorado Chapter. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association provide care and support to families in Colorado coping with Alzheimer's disease, as well as fund national programs and research to ultimately find a cure.
