Rush / Rush (Original Master Recording)

Rush / Rush (Original Master Recording) (Mobile Fidelity 180g 45RPM 2LP) Rush’s 1974 self-titled debut introduced the raw, hard-hitting sound that launched the Canadian trio’s legendary career. The only Rush album recorded before Neil Peart joined the band, Rush features original drummer John Rutsey alongside Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, delivering a straightforward blend of blues-driven hard rock, heavy riffs, and youthful energy. Highlights include the explosive opener “Finding My Way,” “In the Mood,” and the enduring anthem “Working Man.” Sourced from the original analog master tapes and mastered by Krieg Wunderlich, Mobile Fidelity’s numbered-edition 180g 45RPM 2LP pressing presents the album at 45RPM for the first time. Pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing and housed in a Stoughton gatefold jacket, the wider grooves and quiet surfaces reveal greater dynamics, separation, detail, and presence throughout the recording. From Lee’s unmistakable high-register vocals and driving bass to Lifeson’s muscular riffs and soaring leads, this audiophile edition brings new clarity and scale to the stripped-down power of Rush’s earliest material. More than five decades later, Rush remains a fascinating snapshot of the band before its progressive evolution and the starting point of one of rock music’s most enduring careers.
