About Rum Fire Overproof Jamaican Rum Rum Fire Overproof Jamaican Rum is a one-of-a-kind spirit that carries with it the rich tradition and flavors of Jamaica. It's made by Hampden Estate, one of the island’s oldest and most acclaimed distilleries. Inspired by the call for high-ester, full-flavored rums, Rum Fire is a testament to the distillery's commitment to authentically Jamaican, artisanal Overproof rums. Its unapologetically bold character makes it a standout choice for both overproof rum enthusiasts and adventurous spirits seekers. Rum Fire is not just a drink; it's an experience, offering a genuine taste of Jamaica's rum culture. Tasting Notes Approach this overproof rum with respect; small sips reveal its complex layers. On the nose, expect that potent aroma characteristic of Jamaican pot stills. High-ester funkiness mingles with a bouquet of molasses and tropical fruits, including pineapple, ripe banana, and a striking grapefruit presence. As the aroma evolves, a mineral-laden funk emerges and lingers. On the palate you'll experience heat and fruity esters initially, leading to the ripe banana notes detected in the aroma. A grapefruit citrus backbone supports the sweet dance of pineapple on the palate, while a molasses wave transitions to lingering mineral tones. Rum Fire culminates with an intense warming finish. The mineral notes persist, leaving a lasting impression that is both intense and satisfyingly complex, carrying notes of toasted oak and a smooth warming pepper finish. Suggested Serves Rum Fire Daiquiri: A classic serve, where the bold character of this rum gives the simple mix of lime and sugar a remarkable depth and complexity. Kingston Soundsystem: A delicious far-flung riff on the Jungle Bird. Try a split-base of aged pot still rum and Rum Fire Overproof, along with Suze, lime juice and pineapple juice. Production Notes Rum Fire Overproof is distilled in a traditional pot still, a method used by Hampden Estate for over 265 years. This old-world distillation practice includes the use of naturally fermented molasses, and no additional sweeteners, or salts, securing a final product that is as unique as it is flavourful. The spirit is then bottled at an impressive 63% ABV, imparting it with the richness and intensity inherent to Overproof rums. Thus, Rum Fire Overproof makes a perfect rum to buy for sampling a robust, fiery yet flavorful spirit. 750ml & 128 Proof
