RUFF & TUFF! Pet & Family Grass Seed – Drought-Tolerant Fescue Blend

Built for real life — kids running, dogs digging, and everything in between. RUFF & TUFF!™ Turf Blend is a fescue grass seed mix engineered for high-traffic yards that need to look good without constant upkeep. Whether you're overseeding a worn lawn or starting from bare soil, this blend is a thoughtful gift for any homeowner who wants a resilient, low-maintenance lawn. 🌱 Key Features 🐾 Pet & Kid Friendly: Holds up to dog runs, backyard games, and heavy foot traffic without giving out. 💧 Drought Tolerant: Fescue grasses are naturally low water once established — ideal for busy households. ✂️ Mow Less: Slow-growing fescues mean fewer mowing sessions and less yard work overall. 🌿 Lower Fertilizer Needs: Requires up to 80% less fertilizer than Kentucky Bluegrass. ♻️ Eco-Conscious: Reduces your property's carbon footprint — good for your family and the environment. 🔄 Fast Recovery: Bounces back quickly from wear so your lawn stays green through the season. 🌾 Seed Blend Ratio 35% Creeping Red Fescue 30% Chewings Fescue 25% Tall Fescue 10% Hard Fescue 📋 What to Expect With regular watering, fescue seeds germinate in 1–2 weeks. Plants stay small for the first couple of months — that's normal. Mow at 2–4 inches during the first growing season and water consistently through dry spells. Once established, your lawn needs very little attention. 🗓️ When to Seed Fescues are flexible and can be seeded in spring, summer, or fall. For upper Midwest states like Wisconsin, aim for late April to early May when soil temperatures reach around 55°F. Dormant seeding in late fall (over frozen ground or fresh snow) is also an option. Avoid seeding right before hot, dry stretches and keep soil moist during germination. Give your yard — and your family — a lawn that works as hard as you do.
