The lab-grown ruby These are lab-grown rubies — genuine rubies, real corundum with the same chemistry, hardness and fiery red color as mined stones. At 9 on the Mohs scale, ruby is one of the hardest gems you can wear daily, second only to diamond, which makes it wonderfully suited to a ring worn every day. Grown rather than mined, each stone is a rich, saturated red with excellent clarity and an ethical origin. To explore the gem, our guide to ruby meaning and our overview of red engagement rings are lovely starting points, and there is more of the stone across our ruby engagement rings. Sparkling moissanite accents Set among the rubies, brilliant moissanite adds crisp white fire that makes the red glow even deeper. Moissanite is a genuine gemstone in its own right — lab-grown silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with more brilliance and fire than diamond and superb durability for daily wear. It is a bright, confident partner to the fiery center. If you would like to understand the gem, our explainer on whether moissanite is a lab-grown diamond answers the common questions. Solid yellow gold, gold all the way through Every band is made to order in solid yellow gold — 10K, 14K or 18K — chosen from the drop-down. The metal is precious right through, so the warm yellow color is permanent and inherent to the alloy. 10K is the hardest and most affordable; 14K is the classic balance of gold content and everyday strength, and our default; and 18K carries the highest gold content for the richest, warmest color. This band is solid yellow gold in your chosen karat — 10K, 14K or 18K — not plate or fill. It is precious metal all the way through, so the color and value are permanent. Are the rubies real? Yes. These are lab-grown rubies — genuine rubies, real corundum with the same chemistry, hardness and fiery red color as mined stones, simply grown rather than dug from the earth. Is moissanite a real gemstone? Yes. Moissanite is a genuine gemstone in its own right — lab-grown silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with even more fire and brilliance than diamond and excellent durability for daily wear. Is ruby the July birthstone? Yes. Ruby is the traditional birthstone for July, which makes this band an especially meaningful choice for a summer proposal or anniversary. How durable is ruby for everyday wear? Very. Ruby is 9 on the Mohs scale, one of the hardest gems you can wear, second only to diamond. Set in solid gold, this band is well suited to daily wear with normal care. Can I wear it as a ring guard or on its own? Both. The slim leaf-and-vine band is designed to nest against an engagement ring as a guard, to layer in a stack, or to stand beautifully alone as a distinctive band. Which karat should I choose? All three karats are genuine solid yellow gold. Choose 10K for the hardest, most affordable option, 14K for the classic all-round balance (our most popular), or 18K for the highest gold content and the richest, warmest color. What is the band width? The band is approximately 1.7mm wide — a slender, delicate profile that pairs comfortably alongside an engagement ring or in a stack. Does solid yellow gold change color over time? No. Because the metal is solid gold throughout, the warm yellow color is inherent to the alloy and permanent. A gentle clean with warm water and a soft cloth keeps it looking freshly polished. Can I get it in another gold color? Yes. The band is shown in yellow gold, and white or rose gold is available on request — just get in touch and we will arrange it. Can it be engraved? Yes. Complimentary engraving of up to 16 characters is included — a date, initials or a short message. Engraved pieces are final sale, so please double-check the spelling. Does this come as a set? This listing is for the wedding band only. The matching two-piece set, including the engagement ring, is available separately — reach out and we will help you coordinate it. Are the stones ethically sourced? Yes. The lab-grown rubies and moissanite are created rather than mined, and all of our stones are ethically sourced and conflict-free. Does it arrive gift-ready? Every order ships in a free luxury velvet gift box and is backed by our lifetime warranty — ready for a proposal, a wedding day or a milestone gift.
