When the weather is stormy, I love to watch the Rough Waters. The frothy caps of the waves dance amongst the top of the deep blue. It is mesmerizing. When Timeless Treasures created the Tonga Lakeside line, I knew it was the perfect fabric for our Rough Waters, a 9-Month Block of the Month pattern. The pieced border represents the frothy waves and the monthly blocks spin and churn like a choppy lake. The ship block sails through to a safe harbor. Life can be like rough waters. I don’t think we’d appreciate smooth sailing if we didn’t have the Rough Waters to build our character and fortitude. As you participate in the Rough Waters BOM, I hope you enjoy the beautiful batiks and reflect on how the Rough Waters of your life have brought you a deeper appreciation of smooth sailing." – Lisa Norton, MaterialGirlfriends.com
