It has been historically used for protection and invocation. Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Amethyst Amethyst is the gemstone variety of quartz, produced by the presence of manganese in clear quartz crystal. Increments of iron within the crystal as it formed vary the color of the amethyst, which ranges from pale lilac to deep purple. Amethyst has been popular with royalty, sages, mystics and magicians for centuries. Fine amethysts are featured in the British Crown Jewels and were also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty, as well as being featured elements in the fabled breastplate of the High Priest in the Old Testament and gemstones traditionally placed in rings of ranking members of the Roman Catholic Church. Amethyst is also prized by Lightworkers and crystal healers for its unique energetic properties and its powerful and beneficial effects on mind, body and aura. Amethyst is said to enhance spirituality, raise the vibrational level of the holder, cleanse the astral, etheric and physical bodies, and produce a peaceful, tranquil state of mind. Amethyst works to open and energize the crown chakra, associated with the colors violet, gold and white in the Western mystery school tradition. Amethyst is said to enhance spirituality, raise the vibrational level of the holder, cleanse the astral, etheric and physical bodies, and produce a peaceful, tranquil state of mind. Leonardo Da Vinci wrote that amethyst was able to dissipate evil thoughts and quicken the intelligence. “Because amethyst was thought to encourage celibacy and symbolize piety, amethyst was very important in the ornamentation of Catholic and other churches in the Middle Ages. It was, in particular, considered to be the stone of bishops and they still often wear amethyst rings,” continues the website of Independent Certified Gemologists and Appraisers. “In Tibet, amethyst is considered to be sacred to Buddha and rosaries are often fashioned from it.” Because amethyst is classically the stone of sobriety, purity and chastity and would be an excellent stone for those with tendencies toward addictive behavior, or for those spiritual seekers intent upon transformation through the progressive purification of mind, body and aura. Amethyst is said to enhance spirituality, raise the vibrational level of the holder, cleanse the astral, etheric and physical bodies, and produce a peaceful, tranquil state of mind. The color violet is associated with the crown chakra in the Western chakra system, and so this extremely light and bright violet amethyst is said by crystal healers to activate and energize the crown chakra, connecting the bearer to Higher Mind, Higher Realms and inner spiritual guidance from extremely elevated and reliable Sources. In the pantheon of modern day New Age Guides and Teachers, the Count de Saint Germain is called “The World Teacher” and “The Master of the Violet Ray” and is thought to communicate mind-to-mind with many, many students around the world. There is thought to be a large contingent of his students alive today in the United States, the center of modern Empire, just as Paris was the center of European Empire at the time of St. Germain. Many New Age students of St. Germain utilize crystals and gemstones in their spiritual practice, for healing and in meditation, in a modern alchemical quest for Higher Self, Higher Mind and Higher Purpose. Modern New Age practice encompasses a belief in the theory of karma and reincarnation. The belief in reincarnation has its roots in the Hindu and Egyptian Mystery School traditions, and is fundamental to the Greek Mystery School Tradition of the pre-Socratic philosophers. Under the guidance of the Great Alchemist, the Count de Saint Germain, New Age students of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings often utilize crystals and gemstones, along with meditation techniques, Reiki and past life regression therapy to access memories of past lives, and to release the detrimental patterns of behavior, negative emotions and outmoded mental maps of the world imprinted in our cells, our hearts, our minds and our karma from traumas experienced aeons ago. Many of these modern acolytes of the Great Alchemist utilize crystals and gemstones thought to resonate with the energy vibration of the Violet Ray, which is said to be used under the guidance of St. Germain for purification and to raise the kundalini energy in a quest for Unity Consciousness. Such crystals and gems include especially amethyst, that violet colored form of quartz once so favored by the Pope and Bishops of the Catholic Church. Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Purple Sapphire Sapphire, known as a "stone of prosperity" can bring peace of mind, help one to focus & can assist in all aspects of healing for the body. It can aid in working with the throat chakra, and can therefore enhance communications. Sapphire is good to unify our body/mind selves with our higher purpose, our astral & intuitive bodies. The purple sapphire has been a favorite of royalty and Magi for millennia, hailed by gemologists and wise men in both the East and the West as a sovereign protective stone, ideal for use in the king's court, reserved for the highest caste in India and the royal families of ancient Europe. Hebrew tradition tells us that the Ten Commandments were presented to Moses on tablets of sapphire. Ancient necromancers utilized the sapphire as a skrying stone, able to help prognosticators unravel the riddles received in divinatory meditations. The purple sapphire resonates with the energy of the open crown chakra, which is associated with the colors purple or violet in the Western Chakra system, and connects the bearer with the energy of Divine Wisdom. The purple sapphire is an Ascension Stone, and helps to activate dormant kundalini energy, clear the spinal pathways for the uprising flow of kundalini energy, and open stuck chakras throughout the body, facilitating the bearer's spiritual practice, and creating a sense of peace and unity during meditative practices. The colors violet and purple are the colors of the seventh, or crown chakra, in the human energy body, and the Violet Ray is the Seventh of the Seven Rays of Creation. The Seventh Ray is one aspect of the Holy Spirit, a combination of the blue flame of faith and the pink flame of love. The Ascended Master who is Master of the Seventh Ray is Count St. Germain, the eighteenth century reincarnation of the Western Mystic and Adept Christian Rosenkreuz, apochryphal founder of the Rosicrucian Order. The Seventh Ray focus greatly on the use of ceremonial magic and alchemy to purify and transmute the lower, animal instincts of humanity into higher impulses, higher thought-forms, more evolved emotional states, and more purified energetic signatures at all levels of being. Modern New Age practice encompasses a belief in the theory of karma and reincarnation. The belief in reincarnation has its roots in the Hindu and Egyptian Mystery School traditions, and is fundamental to the Greek Mystery School Tradition of the pre-Socratic philosophers, as we discuss at great length in the online E-Book “Spirits of Stone: A Lightworker's Guide to Crystals for Healing and Meditation." New Age students of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings often utilize crystals and gemstones, along with meditation techniques, Reiki and past life regression therapy to access memories of past lives, and to release the detrimental patterns of behavior, negative emotions and outmoded mental maps of the world imprinted in our cells, our hearts, our minds and our karma from traumas experienced aeons ago. Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Rose Quartz Rose quartz normally exhibits a coloration ranging from pale pink to rose red. Scientists believe the color arises from trace amounts of titanium, iron or manganese within the crystal material. Recent research also indicates the rosy color may arise from thin microscopic fibers of the mineral dumortierite, a form of aluminum borosilicate. Rose quartz is generally found in large formations, and usually is too clouded with inclusions to provide good material for cutting gemstones, so gemstone quality rose quartz is quite rare and valuable as a mineralogical collector's item. Rose quartz also has beneficial properties for meditation and healing purposes. The color rose pink is often associated with the heart chakra in the Western chakra system, and rose quartz is believed by crystal healers to activate and energize the heart chakra. For meditators, rose quartz can be valuable in releasing energy stuck in the heart chakra, and also help us to attain a feeling of safety and emotional security that is supportive of all spiritual practices designed to open the heart chakra, and develop compassionate feelings, thoughts and actions. Crystal healers also find rose quartz to be extremely beneficial in treatment of individuals who have experienced the loss of a loved one, or who find themselves picking up on the emotional wounds of others around them. Rose quartz has often been used in the treatment of wounds to the emotional body, and especially a wounded heart, but can be used effectively in treatment of wounds to the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakra. Rose quartz is perfect to place on your altar, by your bed or in the room of a loved one or one who needs extra emotional support. It imparts a warm pink glow and elevates the emotional frequency of the environment in which it resides. Rose quartz projects a soft, soothing, gentle energy that resonates with vibrations of love, and is especially supportive in cases where an individual is developing the capacity for self love. It sends out an energy of unconditional love, as compared with passionate love, so the energy of rose quartz resonates with the heart chakra rather than the lower chakras. This is a gently healing stone, allowing for the slow opening of the heart to healing and loving energies. It supports the wearer or bearer of this stone in all spiritual practices and daily activities that promote the development of compassion for all beings -- and especially for oneself. Sacred Geometry of the Star of Venus Pendant The fivefold symmetry of the Star of Venus pendant, reflected in the sacred geometry of the pentagon, is found throughout nature. Look closely at the leaves on trees and shrubs in your yard. This spring, make a list of the many flowers with five petals, and a pentagonal geometry. They are all either compressed or elongated pentagonal structures. Observe the blueberry, pear, apple, starfish, or the microscopic diatoms that populate the earth's crust. They all exhibit a pentagonal structure. As the noted sacred geometrician and Roman architect Vitruvius observed, the human body, with its five senses, five extensions from the torso, and five fingers and toes, is a beautiful example of the pentagonal structure common to many living beings. The Pentad is associated with excellence, power, beauty and efficient design structures, and these associations are enhanced by the fact that Nature has employed the pentagon throughout Earthly creation, especially in the plant and animal kingdoms, to figure forth living, sentient beings of a myriad of types. It can hardly be a coincidence that Pan, the Greek God of Nature and fertility, is symbolized by an upright five-pointed star. Venus, the Roman Goddess of beauty and fertility, sexuality and love, in her role as a planet in our Solar System, travels over eight years in an orbit tracing a five-petaled figure among the stars. Energy healers, shamanic practitioners and meditators who wish to link their own energy to the Divine Source of Love and Light and Creative Form that structures and energizes and sustains this material creation can call upon Lady Venus and the Great God Pan while performing energy work, meditation or shamanic healing using the Star of Venus pendant, and the pendant will transmit and amplify the stream of energy from that Divine Source many fold, empowering the work in a very beneficial way. In the Western wisdom school tradition of Esoteric Wisdom, the five-pointed star is associated with the birth of the Higher Self. This is undoubtedly connected to Kabbalistic scholarship concerning the nature of the five elements, Yahweh and Yeheshuah, also known as Jesus Christ. Yahweh, also known as Tetragrammaton, the old Teststament God of the Jewish people, is represented in the Kabbalah by four Hebrew letters, Yod, Heh, Vau and Heh. Thus the name of God is YHVH, Yahweh, or Jehovah. The four letters of the name of God correspond to the four Hebrew letters associated with the four elements, Fire (Yod), Water (Heh), Air (Vau) and Earth (Heh). Christian Kabbalists discovered that by placing the Hebrew letter for Spirit or Divine Fire, or Universal Life Force Energy (Shin) in the middle of the name of Yahweh, one creates the name Yeheshuah, or Jesus, YHSVH. Esoterically, this represents the role of Christ, who infused the material world of the four elements with the Divine Fire of the Holy Spirit through his life, death and miraculous resurrection. Christian Kabbalistic healers use a very special mantra for healing and protection that utilizes the secret Hebrew names of God and Christ. This mantra is as follows: "Yod, Hay, Vow, Hay; Yod, Hay, Shin, Vow, Hay" (YHVH, YHSVH). Simply repeat this mantra over and over silently or out loud, and you will gain protection from all negative energies and thoughtforms and all dark influences in all three worlds. By saying this mantra, by repeating these words of power, while meditating with the Star of Venus pendant, or by using this mantra when performing energy healing work, the practitioner will unite the lower mind with the Higher Self, and create a flow of healing energy that springs from the Source -- the living Christ Consciousness and the Holy Spirit, elevating the power of the spiritual work being undertaken, and insuring that the work is performed for the best and highest good of all concerned.
