Rosa Smith 1840 Bird Sampler - 2026 Market Release

Who doesn't love a quirky bird? This sampler is one of two both stitched by Rosa Smith in 1840. Who Rosa Smith really was, we will never know. What we do know is both of her samplers offer a whimsical glimpse into the type of young girl she really was. The curiosity she demonstrated with her needle offers joy to all who stitch this fun sampler. Finished sampler measures 141W X 90H stitches.  Model stitched using Classic Colorworks  and Weeks Dye Works, one strand over two, on 40-count Light Hazelnut linen from xJuDesign Linen.     The original design contains no speciality stitches; however, most of Rosa Smith’s name is stitched one over one.
