Root Guard Gopher Baskets

Protection That Works! If you live in an area that is plagued with marauding gophers burrowing underground and eating plant roots in your garden and yard (like our trial garden), you’ve undoubtedly had the experience of literally watching your plants disappear when gophers want a meal – they seem to enjoy eating anything that is green and growing!  The only solution is planting into a tough, long-lasting, effective barrier basket. Diggers’ well-made gopher baskets are our solution and we have been using them for several decades. With snap open steel frames and baskets of gopher-proof, double galvanized, 20-gauge ¾ inch hexagonal wire mesh, they withstand years of being buried in the soil.  Creating a physical barrier with these baskets is the best solution to protect the root balls of your plants. We couldn’t garden without them. Dig a hole, open and insert the basket, add soil and plant right into the cage. There you go – no more gopher worries!   Available in these sizes: 1 quart/6 pack – Small plants, vegetables, herbs Formed size: 4” diameter x 5” deep 1 gallon/2 pack – Perennials, veggies, berries Formed size: 8” diameter x 9” deep 3 gallon/1 pack – Group plantings or large annuals, perennials, shrubs.
