Hoja Santa means 'sacred leaf' in Spanish - often used in Mexican cuisine for tamales, mole verde, and pozole, and even chocolate drinks. Can be used fresh or dried. Really wonderful sassafras scent, tolerates heat and cold, dry pots and wet feet. Naturalized to the greenhouse floor and gets bigger every day!
