Roman Wooden Plate

This Roman Wooden Plate is crafted from seasoned acacia hardwood, known for its strength, durability, and beautiful natural grain. The smooth, rounded design makes it comfortable to use and is suitable for serving fruits, snacks, bread, and other dry foods. The best part is that each piece has its own wood grain, color variations, and natural markings. Historical Inspiration Wooden dishes were practical household items in the ancient Roman world, generally for everyday meals, military camps, and people who needed durable tableware. While wealthier Romans could use silver, bronze, or fine pottery, wooden plates and bowls were a simple and practical alternative for the common folks. Turned wooden vessels have also been preserved at waterlogged archaeological sites across Europe, giving us evidence of their long use. Uses & Applications The simple shape works well as a medieval wooden plate for Renaissance fairs, Viking gatherings, LARP, reenactments, historical camps, theatre use etc. The natural wood appearance also works beautifully as a plate wooden serving piece for rustic kitchens, dining tables, and decorative displays. Acacia hardwood is naturally hard and resistant to everyday use, making this wood plate a reliable choice for daily use. Care & Maintenance Hand wash with mild soap and water, do not soak. Dry properly with a soft cloth after washing. Avoid dishwashers, prolonged moisture, and extreme heat. Occasionally apply food-safe oil or beeswax to help maintain the wood. Note: Each piece is individually crafted from natural acacia wood. Differences in grain, color, knots, and small surface markings are natural characteristics of the material.
