Rodeo 26"x12"

Western designs have always been part of the Studio vibe.  The landscapes and iconography of cowboys, horses and Americana have been an inspiration since Stephen created his Americana series in 2018. The western pieces feature horses, cacti and many other symbols created with yarn, embroidery and appliqué. The pieces all start with up-cycled luxury boxes or shopping bags that are trimmed into the background shape, collaged and then embroidered. The embroidery is stitched directly through the actual box itself. Each piece features intricate embroidery stitches that truly make each one unique. The Rodeo typography is created with yarn embroidery that is mounted in relief over the background.  Embroidered butterflies are then added as a finishing touch. 26x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic. 2025
