Rock Carving

Step into the quiet, ancient world of Norway’s earliest storytellers. Rock Carving is a fine art print inspired by petroglyphs from Hell and Bardal in Trøndelag, where carved figures stretch across great distances yet echo the same symbols and the same human wonder. The original painting was created with acrylic on canvas, reimagining how these marks may have appeared layered across stone, with warm red tones shining through. That red pigment, applied in more modern times to highlight the carvings, became a powerful reminder of how history builds in layers. The ancient engraver, the archaeologist, and the modern viewer all become connected through a single line of carved stone. This print carries a blend of mystical, ancestral, and archaeological energy, offering a small window into the stories etched into northern rock long ago.
