Locking Gun & Valuables Steel Vault Box for Rivian R1T / R1S Lower Center Console

In-stock, shipping! Finding a safe and secure location to store your valuable belongings is essential. Since the Rivian doesn't come with any factory-installed locking compartments, there is no designated space that is fully protected from theft, valet access, unauthorized individuals, curious children, or smash-and-grab criminals. The design specifications aimed to provide a secure vault in a conveniently accessible location, one that could be locked independently of any software system. Additionally, the vault had to be large enough to accommodate most common midsize-framed self-defense handguns.  The engineers at Team 1EV figured early on that the Rivian camp speaker location (lower center console) was the perfect place to store valuables or a self-defense gun.   Also a perfect lock-box for contractors carrying cash or valuables.     The Team 1EV Vault Box is constructed from CNC-formed, heavy-wall alloy steel and finished with a textured gloss black wrinkle powder coating for durability. The vault’s lid is secured with a high-security barrel key. To keep the vault physically locked to the Rivian, a steel cable is provided, which interlocks with the passenger seat frame. This cable lock allows the vault to be detached from the camp speaker dock, but it cannot be removed from the vehicle unless the vault lid is opened to unlock the cable.   Attention to detail is key, and after testing the fit for common self-defense handguns, we realized the camp speaker’s dimensions were a bit small for many firearms. To address this, we extended the length of the vault just enough to comfortably accommodate most handguns, while keeping the protrusion from the camp speaker dock to a minimal 0.8 inches, which remains unobtrusive. The interior of each vault is fully lined with high-density foam, which can be completely removed if desired. The bottom foam is pre-diced, making it easy to trim to create a custom pocket for your handgun or other valuables.   Fitment: 2021-Present Rivian R1T / R1S Note: Replaces factory Rivian Camp Speaker.   Press it into the Camp Speaker Port and it clips into place (does not rattle or jiggle around).  Note, it does not interface with on-screen camp speaker electronic lock.  It simply clicks into place.   When you're ready to open it, just pull it out.      Dimensions: Opening 5.7" x 8.7" (Nominal) Inside base (tapered out larger than opening) 6.1" x 10.3" Depth (no foam) 4.5"   Specifications No tools required to install cable.  Cable use is also optional.
