TL;DR Riveted chainmail aventail for medieval combat helmets Best suited for Eastern and Slavic-style helmets Made from flat rings Half solid rings and half riveted rings Standard size fits our helmets for 55–62 cm (21.7–24.4 in) head circumference Standard full circumference: 78 cm (30.7 in) Stretched circumference: 95 cm (37.4 in) Height: 25 cm (9.8 in) Custom sizing available by measurements This aventail protects the neck and lower head area while keeping the helmet historically clean and practical. It helps cover the gaps around the helmet edge, which matters when strikes come from the side, behind, or during close-range grappling. We make it from flat rings with a half-solid and half-riveted construction. As a result, the aventail keeps good flexibility while staying strong enough for regular armored combat use. The listed price applies to a standard-sized aventail made for our helmets. This standard version works for helmets made for 55–62 cm (21.7–24.4 in) head circumference. For heavily customized helmets or unusual attachment layouts, the final price may change. Therefore, please add your measurements in the order comment, so we can check the fit before production. Measurements We Need 1 — Full bottom circumference of your helmet 2 — Chainmail height from the attachment point to the lower edge of your padded aventail These measurements help us adjust the aventail to your helmet size. So it sits better, covers the neck correctly, and does not hang too short or too long during movement.
