RIO Elite Skagit Max Power

The RIO Elite Skagit Max Power replaces the ever popular Skagit Max Short. The Skagit Max Power is great for shorter rods, and should definitely be in your head wallet for those tight casting situations where you don't have a whole lot of room to place a D-loop. These heads carry the largest flies and the heaviest sink tips better than ever before. The taper and weight distribution of RIO Elite Skagit Max Power shooting heads transfers the energy from the head to the tip and through the fly to produce powerful casts with high line speed and tight loops. Skagit Max Power heads have a low stretch core that provides a lot of sensitivity and feel from the fly to the angler. Built with SlickCast, the most durable coating on the market. Built with RIO's exceptionally slick, durable SlickCast coating Ultra-low stretch ConnectCore Designed for shorter Spey rods, tight restrictions, and almost impossibly easy casting High “grains per foot” power, making it ideal for the largest flies, heaviest tips, and toughest winds Complete series of heads with varying lengths and small size increments For best performance, RIO recommends attaching the following head sizes to these shooting lines sizes: 200gr to 450gr – .024/.026” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 25lb SlickShooter/GripShooter 450gr to 575gr – .030/.032” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 35lb SlickShooter/GripShooter 575gr to 675gr – .035/.037” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 44lb SlickShooter/GripShooter 675gr and bigger – .040/.042” Elite Metered/PowerFlex Max Shooting Line, or 50lb SlickShooter/GripShooter Head wt 350gr 375gr 400gr 425gr 450gr 475gr 500gr 525gr 550gr 575gr 600gr 625gr 650gr Rod wt* Head Length Color Sink Rate 5wt 19ft Salmon / Blue Float 5/6wt 19ft Salmon / Blue Float 6wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 6wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 6/7wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 7wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 7wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 7/8wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 8wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 8wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 8/9wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 9wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float 9wt 20ft Salmon / Blue Float *Rod Weight designations provided by RIO and should be used as a general guide and will vary based on different manufacturer’s rods, as well as each angler's casting style.
