Richardson’s Ground Squirrel Brain Replica

Richardson’s ground squirrel brain replica measures 1.2 x 0.8 x 0.6 inches. The Urocitellus richardsonii brain is a museum-quality polyurethane resin cast of a CAS specimen. 1:1 scale. Made in USA. People often call this animal the dakrat or flickertail. The Richardson’s ground squirrel is a prominent North American rodent. While locals sometimes mistake them for prairie dogs or gophers, they are actually a distinct species. The squirrel was named after Scottish naturalist Sir John Richardson. North Dakota earned its nickname the Flickertail State because of this very squirrel. These squirrels are native to short grass prairies across the northern United States and western Canada. You will find them primarily in North Dakota and Montana. They also live throughout Alberta and Manitoba. Today, they even adapt to suburban areas. While they are fascinating to study, their burrowing habits often lead humans to view them as pests. Scientific Classification Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Order: Rodentia Family: Sciuridae Genus: Urocitellus Species: U. richardsonii Binomial name: Urocitellus richardsonii (Sabine, 1822) Conservation status: Least Concern (ICUN 3.1) Richard, the Richardson’s ground squirrel brain replica, is collecting nuts to stash for winter. He loves this time of year. He invited his friends to a field that has unlimited walnut trees. They are meeting there at ten. Pillsberry, the American badger skull replica, already had a few buckets full of walnuts when Richard arrived. Pockets, the pocket gopher skull replica, is jumping from tree to tree to knock down all of the walnuts on the trees. It is so fun, especially when another squirrel is on the ground and the walnuts bounce off their head. Squirrely, the eastern gray squirrel skull replica, has squirreled away enough walnuts for an army already. He is there just to have fun.
