Rice hulls improve the mash filter bed and help prevent stuck mashes and sparges by opening up the grain bed. Use along with grains that lack a husk such as wheat, rye, and other flaked grains. Typically, a few ounces per five-gallon batch is sufficient, but your system and brewing method will ultimately determine which amount is right for you. We recommend keeping some on hand, just in case.
