Ribbon Candy was inspired by the candy that my grandmother always had on offer in her candy dish. The pattern combines brioche stitch and intarsia to create a bold, vertical color block effect. The distinct, woven channels of color that result from merging these two techniques will draw the eye and delight the knitter. The cowl begins with an i-cord foundation. Then stitches for the body are picked along the edge of the i-cord and worked with i-cord edges before ending with an i-cord bind off. Tutorials for working in brioche and intarsia, as well as i-cord, are included with the pattern. Finished Measurements: Circumference: 52” / 132 cm Height: 7 ½“ / 19 cm Suggested Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh DK, pictured in Rainwater, Hosta Blue and Conference Call Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) US 9 (5.5 mm) for i-cord Gauge: 20 sts and 22 counted rows (44 worked rows) = 4” in Brioche stitch, using smaller needles Notions: 2 stitch markers, size I-9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, waste yarn, tapestry needle, pins and blocking mat (optional) This pattern first appeared in Twist Collective and was my first published pattern. I loved receiving this e-magazine in my inbox and to have been published in their "pages" is a highlight to my design career.
