Rhyncholaelia digbyana

The Rhyncholaelia digbyana boasts an enchanting appearance, with its entire plant adorned in a delicate powdery bloom. Its erect inflorescence, reaching 3" (7.5 cm) in length, culminates in a single large, hairy-looking flower, spanning an impressive 7" (18 cm) across. The petals, predominantly white with hints of green, exude an irresistible allure, making each bloom a sight to behold. Compact in nature, these plants bloom with vivacious green flowers, adding a splash of tropical elegance to any space. Cultivation Tips: Light: Provide a light level ranging between 25000-40000 lux, ensuring brightness with a slight filtration or scattering. Avoid direct exposure to the sun during the afternoon hours, while ensuring consistent, strong air movement. Temperature: Embrace its thermophilic nature with average summer temperatures reaching 31°C during the day and 24°C at night. Winter temperatures average 27-28°C during the day and 19-21°C at night, with a daily amplitude of 7-8°C. Humidity: Maintain a humidity level of approximately 80% throughout the year to mimic its natural habitat and promote healthy growth. Substrate and Repotting: Utilize a loose, well-permeable substrate such as pine bark, cork pieces, or tree fern fibers. Opt for smaller pots to accommodate root growth, and consider repotting when new roots emerge or after flowering. Watering: During the growth period, water generously, ensuring roots dry quickly afterward. Allow the substrate to dry between waterings, avoiding waterlogged conditions. Fertilizer: Fertilize weekly with 1/4-1/2 of the recommended orchid fertilizer dose during active growth. Adjust fertilizer content seasonally, favoring low nitrogen and high phosphorus in autumn to enhance flowering and bolster new growth before winter. Rest Period: In winter, reduce watering frequency, allowing the plant to dry between waterings. Limit fertilization until spring, resuming stronger watering as growth resumes. This is a blooming size in a 5" pot about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited! Elevate your indoor garden with the exotic allure of the Rhyncholaelia digbyana, a botanical treasure that brings a touch of tropical splendor to any space. With proper care and attention to its natural habitat, you'll witness the mesmerizing beauty of this captivating orchid flourish in your home.
