Resin "Amber" Vintage Dowry Strand / Necklace

Cast plastic resin beads created to resemble precious Amber were made in Germany ca.1900's and traded throughout West Africa Used by Fulani in Mali and Mauritania as High Prestige and Dowry Currency. Bead Size Approx. W 32mm x L 33mm x 20mm This strand was lovingly restrung and knotted on fresh cotton cord by our staff in New York City. The turquoise color bead included is an 18-19th century Chinese Dowry Currency bead that was added to compliment the butterscotch yellows in the resin beads.
