Replica Bearded Seal Skull

The bearded seal is a marine mammal belonging to the family Phocidae, native to the Arctic Ocean and adjacent seas. It is characterized by its distinctive long whiskers, which give it the appearance of having a "beard." Bearded seals primarily inhabit pack ice and shallow coastal waters, where they feed on a variety of prey such as fish, squid, and crustaceans. They are important components of Arctic ecosystems and are adapted to their cold environments, with thick blubber layers and specialized respiratory systems allowing them to dive to great depths.
